Education & Experience

Abbee is an Adams County Indiana native and a 2002 graduate of Bellmont High School. She attended Ball State University majoring in communications before transferring to the University of Central Florida in Orlando where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2008, majoring in both Political Science/Pre-Law and American Public Policy.

Prior to her time in legal practice Abbee worked in the political arena as a political speech writer and campaign manager working on local, state, national, and presidential campaigns. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree Abbee owned a marketing and corporate events company hosting employee recognition events for major fortune 500 companies across the country.

In 2013 Abbee graduated Magna Cum Laude from Keiser University in Orlando, Florida with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in marketing. She graduated from the Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2016 with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. While in Law School Abbee was an Associate Editor on the Child and Family Law Journal, a Dean’s Fellow, a research assistant for the Honorable Jose Rodriguez, as well as a member of the Moot Court Team.

Abbee was a Certified Legal Intern with the Barry University Juvenile Defense Clinic where she served as conflict counsel for Juveniles in the criminal justice system facing juvenile delinquency charges in Orange County, Florida. She also served as Certified Legal Intern from 2014-2016 in the Major Crimes and Homicide Division at the Office of the State Attorney – 9th Judicial Circuit in Osceola County, Florida.

Abbee was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 2016 and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Marion County, Florida until September 2018 when she returned home to Decatur, Indiana. While working for the Public Defender’s Office Abbee also served as defense counsel on the Marion County Problem-Solving Courts including: Misdemeanor Drug Court, Veterans Treatment Court, and Mental Health Court.

Abbee was Admitted to the Indiana Bar in May 2018 and returned home to Decatur, Indiana in September 2018 to serve as Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Adams County. Abbee left the Prosecutor’s Office and joined the Department of Child Services as a Staff Attorney in Allen County focusing on sex crimes against children, sex and human trafficking, and neglect or abuse resulting in catastrophic injury or fatality. Abbee also previously served as a misdemeanor Public Defender in Allen County.

Abbee joined the team at Sprunger and Sprunger in September 2021 where she focuses on criminal defense, family law, CHINS and estate planning. Abbee is also a Certified Family Relations Mediator.
